Privacy policy

These policies explain how IMOOPTIK Group s. r. o. processes your personal data when you visit imooptik.sk and use our optical services, and what rights you have. We comply with the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on personal data protection.

1. Data controller

2. What data we process and why

Contact form on the website – name, email, and message content so we can respond to you. Legal basis: your request and our legitimate interest to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Online appointment booking – name, phone, email, chosen date, and store location to confirm and remind you of your appointment (via SMS and email). Legal basis: contract performance and pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Eye examination, contact lens fitting, and glasses manufacturing – identification and contact details, plus eye data (prescriptions, measurement results including DNEye® biometric data). Eye data are health data and handled with special care. Legal basis: healthcare provision and medical device manufacturing (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c), and Art. 9(2)(h) GDPR).

Purchases, complaints, and accounting – data necessary for issuing receipts, handling complaints, and fulfilling legal obligations. Legal basis: contract performance and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

Health insurance contributions – data needed to claim contributions (e.g., VšZP, Dôvera, Union). Legal basis: contract performance and legal obligation.

Loyalty program – data you provide during registration and purchases to offer discounts and benefits. Legal basis: loyalty program contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

3. Cookies and analytics

The website uses essential cookies necessary for proper function. We only use Google Analytics cookies with your consent via the cookie banner. They help us understand website usage to improve it. You can withdraw consent anytime by deleting cookies in your browser; the banner will reappear.

4. Who we share data with

We share data only as necessary: with our web hosting and content management provider, booking system provider, eyeglass lens manufacturers (only parameters needed for production), health insurers for contributions, accounting and legal advisors, loyalty program provider, and Google (Google Analytics, only with consent). Data transfers to countries outside the EU occur based on standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Privacy Shield framework.

5. Data retention period

Messages from the contact form are kept as long as needed to respond, up to 1 year. Booking data are retained as long as required to provide the service. Records of examinations, glasses production, and accounting documents are kept according to legal requirements. Google Analytics data is retained for 2 months.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it anytime. Exercise your rights by emailing office@imooptik.sk or visiting any of our stores.

If you believe your data is mishandled, you may file a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava, www.dataprotection.gov.sk.

These policies are effective from November 1, 2026.
