€70 annual contribution for children's glasses from Union
Children grow quickly, and so do their eyes – glasses are often lost, damaged, or simply outgrown. That's why Union Health Insurance offers an annual €70 contribution as part of its Eye Care package for eyeglass frames and/or lenses for children under 18. You can use this benefit when purchasing glasses at any IMOOPTIK store.
Who is eligible for this benefit
Children under 18 who are insured with Union,
and at least one parent (legal guardian) must also be insured with Union – even a submitted application with all required documents is sufficient.
What the insurance covers
€70 towards eyeglass frames and/or lenses with a prescription,
once per calendar year, up to the child's 18th birthday,
with no limit on the prescription strength.
Conditions
The prescription for glasses and optical aids must be issued by an eye doctor contracted with Union. Be sure to take a photo of the prescription—it is a required attachment for the application.
Glasses must be purchased at an optical store contracted with Union. IMOOPTIK is a partner, and you will receive the payment receipt directly from us.
The application must be submitted within 90 days of purchasing the glasses.
How to apply for the contribution
Applications are submitted electronically via the Online Branch or Union mobile app:
Log into your account and switch to your child's account (in the app, find it under the Family tab).
In the Online Branch, select Benefits → Children's glasses; in the app, go to More → Discounts and benefits → Children's glasses.
Fill in the details, upload photos of the prescription and the payment receipt from the optical store, then submit the application.
You can track the status of your application in the Usage Overview or Application Overview, and Union will also notify you by email.
Union will transfer the contribution to the bank account specified in the application within 90 days at the latest.
Important notes
Children are not eligible for the contribution without a parent insured with Union.
The 90-day deadline from the date of purchase is strict, so submit your application as soon as possible after receiving the glasses.
